New to the hotel’s offerings is the much anticipated South Gate restaurant.  Featuring celebrated chef Kerry Heffernan, this neighborhood restaurant offers seasonally inspired American cuisine, over 1200 wine selections, and vibrant design overlooking Central Park.

Our newly redesigned lobby now features the Lobby Lounge, where you can enjoy a savory selection of culinary delights, including appetizers, entrée and sandwiches, in a setting of Art-Deco style and ambiance.

The new menu offers guests breakfast and all-day restaurant selections, served seven days a week, from 8.00am to 10.00pm.

Choose from a myriad of items such as grilled King crab meat with Caesar salad, Kobe beef burger, Maine Lobster sandwich and Denver omelet.

A fine selection of wines, cocktails and coffees are available as well, including our signature drink - The Essex.

Traditional afternoon tea is served from 2.00pm to 6.00pm, and offers a delectable variety of finger sandwiches, pastries, scones, fruit cake and shortbread served with an outstanding selection of teas.

Sumptuous white leather banquettes, tucked away in a richly-appointed burgundy-draped alcove featuring faux crystal beaded table lamps with chrome accents, reminiscent of the 1920s, make for a convivial and lounge-like environment in a lobby setting. Rich burgundy and amethyst-colored satin pillows adorn the lobby's oversized cream-colored leather sofas, and exude both comfort and design versatility.
